Great white sharks change color to get close to their prey

The jaws of this fish are armed with 300 teeth, the weight is about 2 tons. And recently it was discovered that it is able to change color. It probably does this to get closer to its prey.

In a study off the South African coast, scientists pulled seal meat bait behind a boat to make predators jump out of the water near a pipe with squares of different shades of gray pasted on it. The researchers photographed the fish every time they jumped, repeating the experiment throughout the day. As a result, it turned out that some sharks were darker or lighter.

Then scientists in laboratory conditions examined a sample taken from one predator, where they were treated with different types of hormones.
